VOROB'EV

Moscow

Vorob'ev, Oleg Mikhailovich
This is one of the larger archives in the collection. Some of the documents are held in the fonds of Mikhail Nikolaevich Vorob'ev (f. 1, op. 3, d. 905) and Valentina Aleksandrovna Vorob'eva (f. 1, op. 3, d. 907). It contains personal and official documents relating to the imprisonment, Gulag labour record, release and rehabilitation of Mikhail Nikolaevich Vorob'ev. There is a large collection of letters from Mikhail Nikolaevich to his wife, his children and his parents from the Solovetskii labour camp (written during 1938 and 1939), from the Noril'sk labour camp (written during 1939 and 1940), and from exile in Arkhangel'sk (written in 1940). There are also many letters from his parents and his son Oleg Mikhailovich written to Mikhail Nikolaevich in prison, labour camps and exile during 1939 and 1940. The letters of Valentina Aleksandrovna Vorob'eva are also numerous: most of them are written to the parents of her husband and her children, or to her children separately, during 1939-40; but there are also many letters to her husband (1939-1940) and to her sister Nina Aleksandrovna (1939). The archive also contains family photographs.
